first event in ee3? grenth won, got hats (had my frezzie crown on the whole time).
second event in ee6.dwayna..got lots of prezzies and no hat (was still wearing that same frezzie crown).
2 accounts lots of ccshards.

I have been unable to get the Grenth hat after receiving the Dwayna hat.

I received Dwayna hat in LA fine. This was the first event time 12:01PST. I equipped the new hat (I was not previously wearing any costume items) - I was in a tonic at the time and then mapped to Kamadan. I went from America district 60 to district 39. The event was in full swing they were already taking candy canes. As others have said all presents are received. For the next event time slot I was in LA America district 65. I was afk for the event but received all gifts and no hat for the second time.

I have since taken off and stored the costume hat as that was the major difference in state between the two events for me. I'll see if that will allow me to get that other hat.

Was in town when the finale battle starts. zone in from playing Snowball Dominance. Everyone in that place that was not afk all confirm there's no hat for them.

please fix... running out of time, have few more accounts to go ...

Can't post this on Gaile's page because I keep getting edit conflicted.

I have two accounts. One has a costumes and is wearing an old festival hat, the other has neither. The one with the costume and hat got one out of two new festival hats, the one without costume or hat got neither. Both were in the same ring in the same district for both events.

Account 1: got Dwayna hat from event 1, festival-hat-guyed it and deleted it, and got no hat from event 2.
Account 2: got neither hat.

What town were you in? - Kamadan for both events.
What district? - EED2 for event 1, AD27 for event 2.
Did the event take place? That is, did Grenth and Dwayna have their battle, did you get presents, etc? - Yes for both events.
Were you in the town before the finale "battle" started, before Grenth and Dwayna appeared? - Yes for both events.
Which hat would you have gotten? That is, which diety won the battle? - Dwayna for event 1, Grenth for event 2.

Btw it's deity not diety.

While getting the hat would be nice, I gave up on it and just feel utterly disappointed. The very first event of the New Year has major issues... once again, I simply question why the level of support is what it is, and have great concerns about how GW2 will get treated.

It's not that Anet is terrible, they're just not much different from competitors now, which saddens me.

The very first battle I was in Lion's Arch American district 10 afk I got presents and the dwayna hat

2nd event in district 89 presents exploding snowmen and whining but no hat

I feel sorry for the GW1 team for having such a small team and a never ending list of things to fix. I bet they can't wait for GW2 to come out so thousands of people will stop criticizing the job they do.

That's what you get when there are not enough recources around, no time for testing and quick fixes.

Hats will be available in ingame store soon as micro transaction for 10 bucks.

I'm wouldn't be concerned with the level of support if one of the lead support persons (Gaile Gray) is posting about bugs in the game at around 3:00am in the morning on January 1st...

...as if there wouldn't be any better things to do at this very point of the year (having a party, getting drunk, being drunk, sleeping, etc.)

The problem isn't the retrospective aspect of the team, as hindsight is 20/20. The concern is that this event wasn't prepped back and forth. It didn't have to be flawless, but obviously there were some major unresolved issues. To be fair, things change from the test server to the actual server, but this is just one instance in a line of many.

To the poster above who said they must want GW2 to come out to make up for their shortcomming here... They don't work on GW2. They are the "GW1 Live Team." Furthermore, you don't screw over your current playerbase in favor of a future playerbase. It is MUCH more efficient in business to make a returning/lifetime customer than to continually try to bring in new ones. You can split hairs about this because technically all you need to do is get someone to buy GW once since there's no monthly.

You don't put out this level of support for current players hoping they'll follow like lemmings over the cliff onto the next project. The response by Anet is fast, and has always been. But like I said, its more of a "this didn't undergo thorough inspection." To be clear, I don't blame Anet designers/testers/Regina... I blame Anet management for how GW1 as a whole has been handled, and we get to start off 2010 with a fresh example.

I got several reports from our guild [ZoS] of people who did not get their hats either in LA and in KMD. so it seems to be a global problem, in both towns.

I'm well aware that they aren't working on GW2. You should read more carefully I clearly referred to them as "GW1 team". My point was it would lighten their work load and people who move on to GW2 would stop complaining. Everything else you said was spot on though.

Well, our best bet is just to continue to afk and collect presents today like we would have anyways. Once the hat thing gets all sorted out in the long run, it would be beneficial to have the main event run a second time. I certainly didn't mind any of the other holiday "reduxes". :P
